This teacher had limited experience in Leadership but was applying for a Head of Department role. It was within the school she was currently working in, and she was enthusiastic about taking on the position.
With two pages to write four Selection Criteria, and wanting to sell her skills and expertise, I spoke to her at length regarding initiatives she had been involved with over the years. After a lengthy discussion, where I teased out all relevant information, I was able to choose the best examples that would highlight her leadership skills and knowledge of the curriculum.
As a result, I am confident that I have written a very strong response to the criteria, which will be instrumental in gaining her a call to interview for the position.
